Mount Pleasant, here we come!

Today I will be at the Region 8 ESC in Mount Pleasant speaking to area K-5 teachers about something that really gets me excited, Technology. Traveling with me is our computer lab teacher, Nina Peery. She has done great things at White Oak Intermediate with our students in the lab. A effective, student-oriented teacher, she has students eager to attend lab sessions and learn new skills that they will truly put to use later on in their educational journey.

Today’s session, Techology for Elementary Teachers, will demonstrate to educators ways to use a classroom website as a powerful curriculum tool. We will take a look at the organization of my classroom website while at the same time, allowing K-5 teachers time to mentally and physically organize their own plans. The course of the day will carry us through communication with parents and students, student recognition, assignments, blogs, and social networking.
